By Marjorie M RoyThe flag is flying again on the Village Green! The old flag was tattered, and the ropes needed to be replaced. The community really came together to make this happen. A huge “Thank you!” goes out to Bob Ward, Doug Phelps, the New Hampshire Electric Co-Op, American Legion Post #101, and Proctor Academy. Bob and Doug coordinated the purchase of the flag, ropes, and clips. Bob went to Flags Works and got the flag, The Co-Op installed the ropes using their bucket truck, and Bob coordinated an American Legion flag raising ceremony held on the Fourth of July. The Village Green is Town property; Proctor Academy maintains it beautifully, and they also maintain the flag’s daily status. Thank you to all! Caption and photo: Marj Roy
