I’m Faith Minton and I’m running for New Hampshire House District 25 State Representative. I’m running because we need voices in the State House who support all New Hampshire citizens, someone who will stand up for working families and work to ensure New Hampshire is a place that works for everyone.
My husband David and I have lived in Warner for over 40 years where we raised our two sons. I love this community and have volunteered my time to make it the best community possible. I was honored for my work in 2017 by the Warner Men’s Club, receiving an award in recognition of over 35 years of community service. I have always strived to bring people together in a collaborative way.
My experience as a youth mentor, school board member, and small business owner has given me a front row to the challenges we face in ensuring all New Hampshire children have access to a quality education.
The huge inequities in New Hampshire’s public school system are a result of inadequate state funding and years of down-shifting to local communities and local property taxpayers. This has caused our property taxes to steadily increase, which hurts those on fixed incomes and working families. The state is constitutionally required to fund an adequate education for all New Hampshire children but hasn’t kept up its end of the bargain.
As your representative in Concord, I will fight for lowering New Hampshire property taxes that place an unfair burden on hardworking families and hurt those on fixed incomes. My experience as a school board representative has shown me the dedication of our school districts, and I have seen how hard New Hampshire educators work for our children and families. All New Hampshire children deserve a good education regardless of what town they live in.
As a youth mentor I have seen the difference caring adults make in young people’s lives. I will work to improve access to mental health care and to make sure that New Hampshire residents have better access to healthcare.
Please vote for me on November 3.
