After a long and full life, Charlotte Adeline (Currier) Clark died peacefully at her home in Andover on Saturday, October 8, at the age of 98.
   
A lifelong resident of Andover, Charlotte was the second child, and only daughter, of Glenn and Etta (Dodge) Currier. Named for two grandmothers, Charlotte Wells Currier and Charlotte Adeline Bolton, she grew up in a busy household with her parents and three brothers in Andover Center.

Always active in the community, Charlotte was a member of the Andover Fire Department Auxiliary, Andover Rescue Squad, and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was also a longtime member of the Blackwater Grange and the Andover Historical Society and was part of the Fourth of July Committee for many years.
   
While still in school, Charlotte worked at Kate’s Majestic Diner (in what is now the Proctor Block building) and at the Village Store in Andover Center, where, as many know, she continued to work part-time for years and years.
   
After graduating from Andover High School in 1942, she, like so many young women at that time during World War II, worked on an assembly line making airplane motor parts at the Scott and Williams factory in Laconia, and later at Holmes and Nelson’s clothing store in Franklin. 

In 1950 she began working with the Andover School Hot Lunch program, where she remained employed for over 35 years. Also during that time, she worked at Camp Marlyn on Bradley Lake in Andover during the summers.

Charlotte and her husband Elmer were married in July of 1946. They moved into their home on Lawrence Street in 1951 where they raised their daughter, worked hard, and enjoyed a good life together that was full of family and friends.
   
Charlotte will be remembered for her boundless energy and work in the community and her willingness to be of help to anyone in need.  She loved traveling, holidays (especially Halloween and Christmas), and, for over 20 years, was a dedicated and enthusiastic walker at the COA Seniors Walking program. 
   
Charlotte had a deep love of nature and was happiest being outdoors – working in her yard, walking along trails and backroads, and knowing and loving all the wildflowers and animals she saw. But what she will always be remembered for the most was her love of family.
   
Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Elmer Clark in 1984, her father Glenn Currier, mother Etta Currier Haughton, brothers Lyman Currier, Clyde Currier, and Wallace Currier, brother-in-law Sam Clark, and sister-in-law Jane Currier.
   
She is survived by her daughter Luan Clark of Andover, sisters-in-law Shirley Currier of Andover and Carolyn Currier of Hampstead, and her many cherished nieces and nephews, along with several other dear friends and relatives.

A graveside memorial service will be held at the Proctor Cemetery on Main Street in Andover in the spring on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 2 PM.
