WILMOT – Sponsored by the Wilmot Community Association (WCA), Wilmotpalooza is a fun-filled day for the entire family. Sunday, September 8, promises to have something for everyone. Starting at 11:30 AM, the Wilmot Town Green will be packed with exciting and interesting activities, exhibits, and demonstrations — there will be something for everyone!
The event will kick off with a bouncy obstacle course, kids art making, face painting, and so much more!
At 1 PM, co-sponsored by New Hampshire Humanities, enjoy “Music in My Pockets: Family Fun in Folk Music” by Jeff Warner. Singing games, accessible “pocket instruments” like spoons and dancing puppets, tall tales, funny songs, old songs and songs kids teach each other in the playground – all “traditional” in that they have been passed down the generations by word of mouth – will be seen, heard and learned. We will revisit 1850 or 1910 in a New England town, with families gathered around the kitchen hearth, participating in timeless, hearty entertainment: a glimpse into how America amused itself before electricity. This program is recommended for adults and children ages 6 and above.
Wilmotpalooza is made possible through the generous support of the following sponsors: Andover Pizza Chef, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, Barton Insurance Agency, Belletetes Inc., Better Homes & Gardens The Milestone Team, Chadwick Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clayton A. Miller Inc., Dr. Donna Reed/Appletree Opticians, FloorCraft, Marshall’s Garage Inc., Perkins Landscaping, and Pleasant Lake Veterinary Hospital.
The WCA is a not-for-profit organization and offers free and low-cost events to the local community throughout the year. The association owns and operates two facilities in Wilmot – the Red Barn, a community center and Timmy Patten Park, a beach and playground.
