NEW LONDON – The preschool playground at New London Elementary will soon see an update, as the school board chose a vendor to replace the current structure, which is broken.
Although the board earmarked funds for the update last year, it was difficult to find vendors who could fulfill the requirements. Playgrounds are required by law for preschoolers and must provide a safe playing environment for children with special needs.
After some searching by the district for a contractor who could fulfill the requirements, a vendor has been found. The playground updates will cost $42,781.
