Franklin Savings Bank (FSB) is collecting cards again this year for the Military Holiday Card Challenge, and the Andover Service Club is participating. Created in 2003 by New Hampshire resident Dr. Laura Landerman-Garber, the nonprofit corporation Holiday Cards for our Military Challenge aims to collect and deliver personalized signed cards showing care and respect to United States troops, veterans, and service families.
Please read more about Dr. Landerman-Garber’s work at militaryholidaycardchallenge.com.
Cards can be dropped off by November 15, at either Andover Thrift & Gift Shop during shop hours: Tuesday–Thursday, 10 AM–4 PM, Saturday, 10–2, (next to the Andover Elementary/Middle School, behind Town Hall); or any FSB branch, including the main branch on Central Street, Franklin.
Card guidelines:
1. Please address the card to “Dear Warrior.”
2. Keep in mind our troops have diverse holiday practices and beliefs.
3. Write a personal note if you would like. If you are or have been in the military, a member of a club, or an elected official or first responder, please consider including that.
4. Sign your first name only and the town and state where you live.
5. No envelopes please!
6. If your card is homemade, it should be no larger than 8 X 11 folded.
7. Don’t forget — cards should be dropped off by November 15.
