“Kearsarge Neighborhood Partners (KNP) is a nonprofit dedicated to building a community
where neighbors help each other flourish. We collaborate with over 40 community partners
serving 10 towns in the Kearsarge region, matching the needs of neighbors with committed
volunteers who can help in short-term or longer-term situations.”
Thanks to 26 hardworking volunteers who stacked five cords of firewood on October 19!
KNP volunteers worked side-by-side with helpers from our community partner, the Warner
Wood Bank operated out of the transfer station in Warner. This is the second year KNP has
partnered with the Warner Wood Bank to keep a stock of wood in Warner so that it can be more
easily accessed by Warner residents in need of emergency firewood.
Last reminder: Please sign up for a four-hour stint as a window insert builder, greeter, food
provider, or to supply transportation during the Window Dressers Community Build, November 14 through 20, at St. Andrew’s Church, in New London. KNP will partner with Kearsarge Climate
Action to provide 250 low-cost window inserts, keeping area homes warmer, saving heating
costs, and lowering CO2 emissions. All training is provided, and there are lots of ways to
participate. Email info@nullKNPnh.org ASAP, for the link to join us on this terrific community effort!
Mentors for school-age students are needed at Kearsarge Regional Elementary Schools and
Andover Elementary. Windsor County Mentors, which has 50 years of experience administering
mentoring programs, seeks adults to meet with Sullivan County students at school, one
hour/week. You can join this extraordinary program anytime during the school year, and WCM will train you and match you with a child. For more information, email: info@nullwcmentors.org, or call 802 674-5101.
It’s the perfect time to spread some cheer! Every year we reach out to KNP neighbors, donor,
and community partners with holiday cards, and we deliver bags of holiday cookies all over the
Kearsarge region to neighbors who are actively receiving KNP services. Be on the lookout for
emailed requests from our cookie and card organizers to help sign and mail cards, to bake
cookies, to package them into bags, or to help deliver to recipients.
If you’re not on our mailing list but would like to bake, please email info@nullKNPnh.org. It takes a village — but we’re a festive village and we know you’ll have fun participating in this!
