If you live on one of our beautiful Granite State back roads, you know how difficult it is to attract yard sale hounds to your yard sale. The Danbury Community Center’s (DCC) Town-Wide Yard Sale (TWYS) fundraiser, on August 3 from 8AM to 2PM, comes complete with a map to steer people to your door. You don’t even have to be a Danbury resident to get on the map! We help you by putting you on the map and you help the DCC with a $10 registration. For the same fee, you can bring your sale items to Danbury and rent a space under our tent. We call that a Win-Win.
When you register we will send you two yard sale signs with your exclusive number keyed to the map that shows your association with the TWYS. Your address and last name will be listed on the map and a corresponding number on the map will point to where you live.
The yard sale starts at our tent situated between Rt. 4 and the Northern Rail Trail across from the Danbury General Store. The maps can be purchased there for $2. So, whether you want to set up at your place or ours, for $10 we will put your address on our map or reserve a space for you at the tent across from the Danbury General Store. We’ll also have coffee & donuts available for purchase, if you’re so inclined! The donuts are made fresh and donated by the World Famous Huntoon Farm Bakery which is also now selling ice cream! I know you could just wander around the back roads of Danbury until you ran across the individual yard sales, but this is a fund- raiser! So buy the map. You’ll save at least the $2 in gas and you won’t have to wander your way back from being lost! To get in on this, just make a check out for $10 (it’s ok with us if you want to donate more!) and send it to the Danbury Community Center at 15 High St., Danbury, New Hampshire, 03230 by July 31 to be on our map or at the tent. Proceeds from the map, as well as the concession stand (serving coffee, donuts, hot dogs, water, and soda) and the purchase of donated DCC yard sale items will all benefit the DCC.
We are now accepting donations except TVs, computers, printers, stereos, clothes, exercise equipment, and large furniture, as well as that stuff you couldn’t even give away at your last yard sale (after all, we don’t want to overwhelm our transfer station with a lot of leftovers)! But you can drop off your saleable donations at the DCC at 15 High St. If you have any questions leave a message at the DCC’s number, 768-3424, and we’ll get right back to you. We’ll see you at the tent August 3 at 8 AM!
