The Wilmot Community Association (WCA) and the Wilmot Learning Place (WLP) will participate in a Thursday’s Child fund-raising event starting at 5:30 PM on Thursday, December 5, at the Coach House Restaurant at the New London Inn, 353 Main Street in New London.
The WCA, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving residents of Wilmot, was established in 1963. This year the WCA is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The WLP just celebrated its 30th year at the WCA.
“So with eight decades of affiliation, it is particularly appropriate that the WCA and the WLP collaborate on a fund-raising event such as Thursday’s Child at the Coach House Restaurant,” said Patricia McGoldrick, executive director of the WCA.
Those who want to support the WCA and the WLP should make reservations directly with the Coach House Restaurant.
A portion of the net proceeds from meals purchased that evening by supporters of the WCA and the WLP will benefit the two non-profit organizations.
“This event is a great opportunity for friends to get together for a fun and festive night out,” said Rosanna Dude, president of the WLP Board of Directors. “What a terrific way to benefit two wonderful organizations!”
“The Wilmot Learning Place and the Wilmot Community Association not only share a building, but they also share the goal of creating a wonderful and vibrant Wilmot community for everyone in Wilmot,” said Ann Davis, president of the WCA Board of Directors. “The long-term relationship between the WCA and the WLP ensure that Wilmot has a thriving present and future.”
