The community is invited to the Lake Sunapee Region Center for the Arts’ First Friday program on Friday, March 7, from 5 to 7 PM at the Knowlton House in Sunapee Harbor. This evening’s event will bring talented musicians to our area. All Center for the Arts events are free and open to the public. Join us for outstanding music and an opportunity to meet these talented musicians and vocalists. A reception with light refreshments will follow.
The Summer Music Associates will present an introduction to their 2014 season. Special guest musicians from the Boston Civic Orchestra will provide a preview of their June 28 performance at Colby-Sawyer College. The first hour will be dedicated to what promises to be a delightful performance and interview with the musicians. Attendees will then be invited to enjoy a buffet of appetizers and wine.
Summer Music Associates (SMA) is a non-profit volunteer organization that produces four or five summer concerts and two Home Concerts each year in the New London area. The concerts feature chamber music, orchestral music, vocal and instrumental soloists, and jazz. SMA is 47% funded by its summer ticket sales, but relies heavily on contributions from individuals and businesses.
On the First Friday of each month, the Lake Sunapee Region Center for the Arts (CFA) hosts a series of free arts programs for the community which include gallery openings and receptions, classical and folk music nights, literary and poetry nights, as well as theater nights. Working with their business partners and the community, CFA continues to showcase local and regional talent in the Lake Sunapee area for the benefit of the artists, performers, residents, and visitors to our beautiful region.
The Center for the Arts is a volunteer organization that welcomes your participation. If you enjoy our cost-free programs and would like to become a member or make a donation, please find our membership applications, as well as a donation jar, near the entrance of each First Friday site. If you would like to volunteer, perform, or sponsor a program, contact us at 526-4444. For more information, please visit CenterForTheArtsNH.org.
