The Rehabilitation, Sports, and Fitness Department of LRGHealthcare is excited to announce the winter/spring 2014 Athletic Performance Series topics and dates. These free programs are designed to assist the coach, the athlete, or the everyday exerciser toward developing sport-specific skills or improving their overall fitness. Individuals are welcome to attend one or all.
- Moving Towards Better Running: Information about injury prevention, running techniques, running form, and proper shoe selection. Thursday, February 20, 6 to 7 PM at the Interlakes Medical Center, Lower Level Rehab Center
- Dynamic Stretching and Injury Prevention: Learn dynamic stretching to improve strength, speed, agility, and endurance. Thursday, March 13, 6 to 7:30 PM at Hillside Medical Center, Lot C, Gilford
- Aquatics Workshop: Try an Aquafit workout, which can help decrease pain associated with land-based exercises and enhance an existing training program. Thursday, April 10, 5 to 5:45 PM or 6 to 6:45 PM at Hillside Medical Center, Lot C, Gilford
- The Rotator Cuff – Keeping Your Shoulder Healthy and Strong: Simple exercises to keep your shoulder healthy and strong to engage in everyday activities as well as lifting and sports. Tuesday, March 4, 6 to 7 PM at Franklin Regional Hospital Rehabilitation
- Getting Ready for the Green: Minimize golf-related injuries! Introductory course on the importance of dynamic stretching and strengthening exercises designed specifically for the golfer. Thursday, April 3, 6 to 7 PM at Hillside Medical Center, Lot C, in Gilford, and on Tuesday, April 8, 6 to 7 PM at Franklin Regional Hospital Rehabilitation
