Relay for Life Gearing Up for June Event

Celebration for cancer survivors; fundraiser to fight cancer

Press release

Walkers will go around the clock in the battle against cancer during the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Kearsarge/Lake Sunapee on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21. Everyone is invited to join in the event to help raise money and awareness about the American Cancer Society’s programs of cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services.

To participate, you do not have to be an athlete, a long distance walker or runner. You just have to care and want to help others who are facing cancer.

Hundreds of people will join together June 20 and 21 at the Kearsarge Regional High School for an incredible experience. They will walk the track, participate in games, listen to music, dance, and celebrate in a beautiful and moving candlelight ceremony those who have survived this disease as well as honor those who have passed away. Teams of walkers keep a continuous presence on the track, walking in shifts. Some people even camp out overnight! There is food, and fun activities for the whole family.

“Being a part of Relay For Life means showing the world that there is hope after cancer. We will join together on June 20 and 21 to show survivors, caregivers, and the community that this is what hope looks like. We invite everyone to join us and find out why we all Relay,” says Relay For Life Co-Chair, Bri Trow.
