Local business Belletetes Inc. announces their first annual Community Service event to be held on Saturday, September 20, and they are enlisting the support of area businesses, community leaders, and anyone who wants to volunteer.

With the purchase of RP Johnson and Son in July 2013, Belletetes learned of the We Build It Forward Community Event (WBIF) and were impressed with the idea of this program and wanted to continue to sponsor the community-wide event of public building, repairing, and community service related projects in the towns surrounding their Andover and Sunapee locations as well as their Jaffrey and Ashland Lumber locations. Community members can sign up for the event during the company’s May 17 Customer Appreciation Event or by emailing Sue Johnson at SJohnson@nullBelletetes.com It is also possible to create an event and register it as a part of the celebration.

On September 20, teams of people will head out into the community to take on their We Build It Forward project. The projects may take the shape of yard cleanups, weatherizing a house, small renovation projects, or painting.

Who needs help in town? Help us make a list. Does someone need a handicap ramp? What about a small roof repair? We’re calling on leaders and community members to join us in this mission. Can you volunteer, and recruit others to volunteer as well? We need your ideas, input and support to get the word out!

Project Criteria:

• Must be something they can’t do for themselves
• Has to be something that really helps people
• We all help do the projects together as a way to appreciate those who have helped us before

We are currently contacting business owners, families and friends so they can become sponsors and volunteers for this exciting one-day event. As the event comes closer, we will assign roles and tasks to all who volunteer, and it is all based on how each person wants to help.
