Selectmen Plan July Potluck for Town Staff, Volunteers

All Town committees, boards, etc. are invited

By Sophie Viandier, Andover Board of Selectmen

For a small town of almost 2,400 residents, Andover has a powerhouse of volunteers and staff that keeps the town moving. From our Fire Department to the Conservation Commission, our dedicated neighbors and friends work every day to support the town and create a comfortable, safe, and beautiful environment.

It’s a rare occasion that we all come together in the same place at the same time … that one lovely night in March may not be enough. Why have a meeting when you can have a party?

As a new Board member myself, I would love to get the chance to know my fellow decision-makers and planners and life-savers and money-counters and rule-enforcers in a different environment.

So we propose a potluck. A good, old-fashioned shindig to eat some of our neighbors’ yummy grub. Hopefully we will stack functions over some good eats and hear each others’ goals and visions of Andover so that we may integrate our ideas and polish this multi-faceted town into a shiny diamond.

We will be under the tent in front of Town Hall at 6 PM on Saturday, July 19. Hope to see you there!
