The Wilmot Farmers Market opens its 2014 season on Saturday, June 28 on the Wilmot Town Green on Kearsarge Valley Road with a new food vendor, a lineup of popular musicians, and an eclectic mix of art, agriculture, science, and entertainment in the education tent. The highlight of the month of July will be Children’s Day on Saturday, July 19, when the Wilmot Town Green will be alive with activities for the young ones: firefighting vehicles, games, face painting, live frogs, balloons, and more.
Andover vendors this year include Andul Sundaramurthy of Two Mountain Farm, Naughty Nellie’s Cafe and Ice Cream Bar, and Mary Lloyd-Evans and Peter Zak of Highland Lake Apple Farm.
Providing music on alternate weeks will be Richard King, Mark Aldrich, Folk Fusion, Deanna Stiles, Mike Cressy, and Lindsey Schust and her band.
In addition to the many returning vendors, several new faces bring the total to 19 full-time and 11 part-time businesses offering a wide variety of produce: meat, dairy, vegetables, plants, honey, maple syrup, jams, jellies, baked goods, wool, organic fertilizer, soap, paper products, jewelry, glass work, and handcrafts. For a full list of vendors, musicians, sponsors, and guests at the education tent, please visit WilmotFarmersMarket.com.
July’s education tent will feature Cheryl Sisson and Maria from Wild Meadow Farms bringing ducks, geese, and lambs and demonstrating spinning on July 5; Coleen Vaughn demonstrating Wellness Cooking on July 12; Lindy Heim with frogs from her frog pond on July 19; and Rhonda Gauthier raising awareness about autism on July 26.
