It is always sad to see the Andover Girls Softball (AGS) season come to an end. Even though this year our number of girls was low, we had a great season with lots of games. We hope each girl has had a fun, exciting, learning experience. We hope to see every girl back next year. Great job, coaches, and thanks for your time and endless effort.

We had a great season at the U10 level, with 12 wins and a tie. All the girls on the team gave great effort and enthusiasm.

We also participated in the Andover U10 tournament. We won two games and lost two games. The games during the tournament were the toughest competition we had faced yet. On Sunday, we played three games on one of the first hot days of the spring. The girls did great and never gave up!

The games were close in score, nail-biters for the coaches, and the crowd was great. We ended up with second place in the tournament. Great job to the girls!

The U8 girls had a great season also. They won 11 games and tied one! The girls had lots of learning to do this year. They had to have new girls learn to pitch. They all did a great job!

We also participated in the Andover U8 tournament. We lost our first game on Saturday and won our next game but got eliminated during our last game on Saturday. It was a fun experience for everyone.

The t-ball girls played a lot of games in Andover and Franklin. We are excited to have some of our players moving up next year to begin at the U8 level. Some of these girls have been on our t-ball team since they were three years old!

The overall results for the U10 tournament were:

  • 1st place: Lakes Region Girls Softball’s MB Tractor
  • 2nd place: Andover Slammers
  • 3rd place: Franklin

The overall results for the U8 tournament were:

  • 1st place: Winnisquam
  • 2nd place: LRGS’ Franklin Savings Bank
  • 3rd place: Merrimack Valley

Great job, coaches and girls. Thanks to all the teams that participated. We look forward to hosting the tournaments again next year.

We will be selling fried dough again on the Village Green on the Fourth of July. Don’t forget to stop by our booth.
