Ernest F. Currier, of Newmarket, died on November 25, 2012. He was born in Danbury on May 10, 1928 at home to Frank and Ardena (Ordway) Currier. He attended a one-room schoolhouse on High Street in Danbury, graduating from Andover High School in 1946. Out of high school, he worked for the town of Danbury.
He was a military veteran and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return, he traveled across the state selling insurance. In the early 1960s he moved to Newmarket to work in construction. He formed his own company in the 1970s, Ernie’s Construction, operating the business until his retirement in 1999.
He and his wife, Joyce Bickford Currier, built their home in 1982. Ernie and Joyce enjoyed for many years ballroom dancing and traveling extensively.
Ernest was predeceased by his brother, Alvin Currier of Danbury, and a stepson, Kevin Bickford. He leaves his wife, Joyce Bickford Currier; a sister, Marjorie Huntoon of Danbury; a stepdaughter, Kim Bellimer of Dover; a stepson, Kirby Bickford of Ashland; a niece, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 1, at 1 PM in Proctor Cemetery, Andover. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5 Bedford Farms Drive Suite 201, Bedford 03110.
