Oct 15 (Wed): Great Brook Trail, New London. Help us “pave and raise” the trail where it is now an often muddy crossing. Some clean up on Morgan Hill Trail is also a possibility as New London Conservation Commission and SRKGC collaborate. A few easy deep woods miles. Oct 18 (Sat): Hike on a Beautiful Fall day from Proctor Academy, Andover, to Winslow State Park, Mount Kearsarge. Moderate 6 miles past Proctor ski hill to old roads and snowmobile trails. Contact: Lee Carvalho (ph: 735-5719).
Oct 25 (Sat): Stoney Brook Wildlife Sanctuary (New Hampshire Audubon), Newbury. Help New Hampshire Audubon and ASLPT clear a new and gentle trail to a cellar hold site: simple work with Shovels, Loppers, Handsaws. Short 1 mile walk to site along SRK Greenway’s Fishersfield Trail above Chalk Pond. Newly conserved mature woodlands property with ASLPT holding conservation easement. Oct 25 (Sat): Trail Fun Run from Chalk Pond to Newbury Harbor! Half in woods and half on old and newer roads. Moderate 4.4 miles. Contact: Nathan Richer (ph: 763-2127)
