The Wilmot Historical Society (WHS) will host its annual meeting and cracker barrel program, “Memories of Old Wilmot” from 1 to 3 PM on Sunday, November 2, at the WCA’s Red Barn next to the post office on Village Road in Wilmot Flat.

WHS board member and history buff Fred Ogmundson will introduce the presenters, including former resident 90-year-old Jack McAuliffe. Jack will share his reminiscences of growing up on Stearns Road in Wilmot in the 1930s and 1940s, including his country school house experiences and high school days in Andover. Jack’s keen memory for details will draw you back to a time when folks left both their grocery list and kerosene can at the mailbox to be picked up by the mail carrier, who brought them to the general store in South Danbury to be filled.

Join your friends and neighbors for a fun-filled Sunday afternoon recalling times past. If you have any questions, please call Marc Davis at 927-4596. The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
