Saturday, November 1, marks the opening Winter Market day for Blazing Star Grange’s eighth season of bringing farmers, crafters, and local producers together with the local community that wishes live a buy-local life. To celebrate, a market bag toting Grange colors and market information will be gifted to each and every customer (while supplies last) who enters the building. The bags are a fit finale to celebrate the ending of the last year of a two-year season of sustainability programs and events.
The market fills two floors of the historic Grange Hall built in 1911 and operates from 9 AM to 1 PM. Market-goers will be able to view the newly restored stage curtains which are planned to be changed over the course of the market season so all of them can be viewed.
Downstairs, breakfast and lunch will be served at the Blazing Star Bistro.
At press time, the 20-space market has just a few part-time openings for the 2014-2015 season, which runs from November through May on the first Saturday of each month. Some of the products that will be available are honey, soap, jewelry, veggies, baked goods, meats, clothing, crafts, and candy. All items at the market are locally made, grown, or produced by the vendor.
