I grew up in Littleton and graduated from Springfield College in 1973. I have worked as a teacher, a banker (Senior VP of Dartmouth Savings Bank), a financial advisor, and was the Executive Director of a non-profit organization (Headrest, Inc.). I have been a proud Grafton County Commissioner for the past 17 years. I am married to Julie and have two sons.
My hobby is long-distance running, including seven Boston marathons. I promise that these traits of determination and energy will enable me to work diligently for the residents of District One!
The two Executive Council issues that have been the most controversial are (1) Medicaid expansion and (2) the funding of Planned Parenthood. I would have voted a definite “Yes” to each of these proposals.
Other important issues to me are increasing New Hampshire jobs, the Northern Pass, wind towers, the aging of our communities, the problematic drug epidemic, and working to keep the younger generation in northern New Hampshire.
The Executive Council votes on all nominations by the Governor for commissions, boards, and judges for districts and the superior and supreme courts. In addition, the Council votes on all state contracts. This is a unique form of government which is designed to serve as a checks and balances system.
The late Ray Burton (with whom I served for 16 years as a Grafton County Commissioner) was a master of constituent service. It is impossible to fill Ray’s shoes, but I am determined to walk in his footsteps to proudly represent District One in Concord.

I would appreciate your vote on November 4!
