If there’s one lesson I’ve learned as a mother of three, it’s that real leadership demands tough choices. Over the past several years, New Hampshire has endured a disappointing lack of leadership.
On healthcare, we were told that Obamacare would let us keep our doctor, health insurance plan, and hospital, and that our premiums would decrease. But that wasn’t the case. And when Concord politicians had the chance to stop Obamacare’s expansion in New Hampshire, they failed to stand up for middle class families. Their choice will burden New Hampshire with millions of dollars in unpayable bills.
On taxes, Concord has enacted a painful 23% tax hike on gasoline, shifting costs to working families rather than spending taxpayers’ hard-earned money responsibly. For years, politicians have misspent and overspent, leaving our roads and bridges in disrepair. Their solution? They just raise more taxes.
On education, Concord politicians have limited parents’ choice in selecting a school best suited to their child’s needs, opposing education tax credits that would empower families to make their own decisions. Even more astounding, we’re now outsourcing our kids’ education to Washington bureaucrats, damaging good schools.
New Hampshire faces many tough choices. It would be easy to give in to pessimism, but we should be optimistic. I’m asking for your vote on November 4 because I believe that spending responsibly, respecting taxpayers, and trusting parents and families will put us back on a path to prosperity.
