Happy Holidays everyone! We here at the Andover Afterschool Program want to thank everyone who participated in our fundraiser and donated to the food drive for the Andover Food Pantry. Every year we use the fundraiser money to replace broken or lost toys, games, and puzzles. We also replenish our outdoor toys and sleds. This was a big help.
We also had a group of older children accompany a staff member to the food pantry. This was a big treat, and they were all glad to help out families in need.
In November we made lots of turkeys, and a huge cornucopia was our snack room display. Brianna Keniston and Shawna Barton were in charge of this one. The kids had fun coloring the fruits and vegetables for the cornucopia. We also read a lot of books on the meaning of Thanksgiving during read aloud time. The kids also had fun making pilgrim people for the display in the library.
The Andover Afterschool Program is proud to welcome Selina Jacobs to our staff. She has been an employee of AE/MS for two years and has gladly accepted a couple of afterschool days. The children all know her and are excited to have her with us.
Have a safe and prosperous holiday season. We will see you all next year.
