House Plant Hospital

Master Gardener Nancy Jachim helps you ‘doctor’ your ailing house plant! This workshop will teach you pruning techniques; working with effective growing media; and how to deal with house plant insects and diseases. Snowshoe Adventure Walk for Families

Bring your snowshoes and join Kathleen Stowell, Education Director of Lake Sunapee Protective Association, as she leads a winter walk for families. Discover what animals do to cope with winter’s snow and cold. Fells and LSPA members free, nonmembers $5 per family. No advance registration required. Outdoor Hike: Winter Mammal Tracking

Mid-February and Valentine’s Day is peak breeding season for many wild mammals! Learn animal tracking tips and who is most active in thewinter woods during this workshop led by naturalist Dave Anderson. A 30-minute indoor presentation will review four basic track patterns followed by a guided outdoor hike into the Hay Forest. Dress in layers and wear warm shoes. Bring water, a snack, and your own snowshoes—off trail hiking may be possible dependent upon snow and tracking conditions. Forest Society and Fells members $16, nonmembers $20. Pruning with Tressa Gaffney

Tressa knows pruning from top to bottom. After completing her UNH Master Gardener training she worked as Assistant Landscape Director at The Fells. Tressa shares her pruning expertise and demonstrates the proper technique of when, where, and how to cut, using the Lake Sunapee Protective Association Garden as her classroom.
