Francis P. Aste, 68, of East Andover passed away on January 13, 2015.
Francis was born in Woburn, Massachusetts on October 8, 1946 to Joseph and Anna (Criss) Aste. He earned an associate’s degree in electronics from NHTI in Concord and applied his knowledge as a supervisor with BEA Systems in Nashua.
Francis was an Army veteran who was stationed in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 with Battery C of the National Guard Unit out of Franklin, one of the top artillery units. He received an honorable discharge and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with 60 Device, the Vietnam Service Medal, and one overseas bar.
Francis was a ham radio operator under the call sign WA1VTS. He was deeply devoted to his family.
Francis is survived by his wife, Susan (Perreault) Aste; his son, Paul L. Aste; his daughter-in-law, Leann; his grandchildren, Andrea and Sarah; his mother, Anna Bailey; and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Aste.
A graveside service with military honors will take place on Thursday, January 22, at 1 PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
