Fourth of July Committee May Change the Fireworks Venue

Join the discussion at March 4 meeting

By Andrew Perkins, Fourth of July Committee

Think summer and the Fourth of July! Even though we are being buried alive with all of the snow that has been falling, it will end soon. The Fourth of July will certainly not have any snow … well, except for the sno-cones from the Andover Fire Department.

The Fourth of July Committee will soon be sending out registration forms for the parade. Some notable participants will be the New Hampshire Pipes and Drums, Leapin’ Lena, and Captain Morrill’s Company, to name just a few.

Anyone can participate in the parade! Remember, the theme this year is Summertime. Make a float, organize a band … anything you can imagine.

Fireworks

There has been talk of possibly moving the fireworks display to a different location. A few ideas are being tossed around as to where, but it will still be centrally located. The idea of changing the location will allow better visibility and make it safer for everyone. Stay tuned for more information.

If you would like to participate in the parade, have a booth in the flea market on the Village Green, or help out with the Fourth of July Committee, please contact committee president Bob Ward at 735-5061 or Irene Haley at 455-5656.

The next meeting of the Fourth of July Committee will be on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 PM. Volunteers are still needed, and anyone can help. Having more people participate in the preparation of this great holiday will benefit everyone.
