Alpha Course Returns to Andover Congregational Church

11-week course starts on March 17

By Linda Wickstrom, Andover Congregational Church

Once again the Andover Congregational Church will be offering the world-acclaimed Alpha course. For anyone who has asked themselves or another person questions such as “Is there more to life than this? … What is the purpose of life? … Why is there so much suffering? … Does God care about me? … Who is Jesus? … Does God still heal today?” the Alpha course may be right for you.

The course consists of 11 consecutive sessions starting with a meal followed by a DVD presentation and a small group discussion where you are free to ask any question. No question is unacceptable, ridiculed, or discouraged.

The introductory evening, Christianity: Boring, Untrue or Irrelevant?, will be held at the Highland Lake Grange Hall on Tuesday, March 17, at 6:15 PM. The meal is free (donations for food gratefully accepted) and will be served at 6:30 PM.

The first night is an opportunity to explore and see if Alpha is right for you, and there is no discussion group the first night. If you decide to take the course, it will run for the next 11 weeks on Tuesday nights starting at 6:15 PM and ending promptly at 9 PM. There is no cost for this course.

Over 13 million people in over 163 countries have taken Alpha over the last 30 years. It has been running for 15 consecutive years at Andover Congregational, with over 230 people from the Andover area participating.

This spring we are happy to announce our Alpha course is also being offered as a course of interest through the newly formed Andover Institutes. Please feel invited, and we hope to see you there!
