Youth Lacrosse Coming in Spring of 2013

By Katherine Stearns, for the Beacon

Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the USA! Boys and girls play this sport, primarily with a stick and a ball. It is usually played in the spring, like softball or baseball.

Boys lacrosse is a contact sport, especially at the older ages. Girls lacrosse is a non-contact sport. There are many youth sports organizations in New Hampshire that sponsor youth lacrosse.

If you are an Andover girl in grades 5, 6, 7, or 8 and are interested in girls lacrosse, you are invited to participate in a girls lacrosse clinic at Merrimack Valley High School on Saturday, February 2.

Learn, Love, Live Lacrosse is a clinic for girls in grades 5 through 8. It is on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 1 PM to 4 PM at Merrimack Valley High School. Whether you have experience or no experience, come learn about girls lacrosse!

Cost is $13 for the three hours. Each participant will receive a Learn, Love, Live Lacrosse t-shirt. For more information, e-mail MVHSGirlsLacrosse@nullgmail.com.

Blue Storm

The Merrimack Valley Blue Storm is a youth organization that sponsors lacrosse (as well as soccer and football). In February 2013, Blue Storm will offer sign-ups for youth lacrosse. Blue Storm will be offering a girls U-15 and U-13 team, and the season is from mid-April until June 2013. For more information, visit Facebook.com/BlueStormSports.
