There will be a “Do-It-Yourself” Solar Electricity Workshop on Wednesday, March 4, from 7 to 8:30 PM, co-sponsored by the Andover Energy Group and the New London Energy Committee, held in the Ivey Science Building on the Colby-Sawyer College campus in New London.
Lots of people have successfully installed their own solar photovoltaic systems, and this is an opportunity to learn how they did it. The presentation will focus on how to install solar systems from the ground up, including where to buy the necessary equipment and how to tell if you’ve got a good solar site, with plenty of time for questions and answers.
Speakers include Allen Howe and Sandy Sonnichsen, who have lived off the grid in Goshen for 10 years, and Kim Quirk, a PV installation professional who lives in an old building which she has turned into a zero net energy home and resource center in Enfield.
