Elinor Plant, March 5, 2015

Elinor (Heath) Plant, 84, passed away on March 5, 2015, in her home in Hopkinton. There will be a graveside service later this year in her longtime home of Belchertown, Massachusetts.

Elinor (Lin) was born in Westfield, Massachusetts to Lloyd and Lila (Atwood) Heath on November 27, 1930. She graduated from Belchertown High School.

Lin married Earl L. Plant on February 11, 1950. They were happily married for over 65 years.

Lin worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life, working for several companies in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and she still worked part-time keeping books for her daughter and granddaughter’s family business until her passing. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, Scrabble, poker, visiting the ocean, her cats, and spending time with her family.

Lin is survived by her husband Earl Plant; daughters Doreen (Edward J.) Barkowski and Hollis (Philip) Nepus; grandchildren Edward E. Barkowski, Christine (Barkowski) Hartman, Erin (Morneau) Corey, and Grant Morneau; great-grandchildren Kyle and Connor Corey; and countless nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her son Steven Plant (age 22), her sister Alice Bodzinski, and her parents Lloyd and Lila Heath.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society, one of Lin’s favorite causes and charities, or the American Cancer Society.
