Public comment: Chief Laramie spoke of the current assessment involving the utilization of Andover Elementary/Middle School as a voting site, given safety and security concerns. He is pursuing future options and is exploring other resources.
Board Chairperson’s report: Michelle stated that the Board has completed the budget hearings for this year. She recently attended an Andover Capital Improvement meeting, representing the school district.
Old Business
2015-2016 Budget: The Andover School Board and Andover Budget Committee are in sync regarding the proposed budget. A work session will be held on February 16 in preparation for the upcoming annual School District Meeting.
Flaghole Road Bus Stop: Letters were sent to impacted families. The bus stop is set and working. Recognition was given to John Thompson for his assistance.
New Business
Oil Bids: Robin presented the oil bid results for 2015-2016. The board voted unanimously to accept the bid of Huckleberry Heating Oils for $2.2620 for the 2015-2016 school year.
Committee Assignments: Michelle spoke of the need for Andover School Board (ASB) representation on certain committees. Anne Swayze will serve as the liaison for Proctor Academy. Once an agenda is established for the Andover Capital Improvement Committee and information is detailed, an ASB member will be appointed.
Superintendent’s Report: Mark M. spoke of his attendance at the School of the Year application presentation. He echoed Jane’s sentiments of the strengths of AE/MS: Family; Community, and Caring. The next hurdle, regarding the budget process, will be the annual School District Meeting to be held on March 2. A work session will be scheduled for February 16 for planning purposes.
