Earl Warren Kimball, 94, died peacefully, after a period of failing health, on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home.
Earl was born on September 20, 1920 in Franklin, the son of Clarence and Lillian Kimball. He was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1939. He spent four years in the military as a pilot with the US Army Air Corps in Tennessee until the end of World War II.
Earl worked for Public Service Company in Franklin for several years. He attended the Massachusetts School of Barbering in Boston and owned and operated Earl’s Barber Shop in Tilton for over 50 years, retiring at age 85. Earl was an extremely popular fixture on Main Street in Tilton throughout the years.
He also owned and operated Roberts Surplus Store in East Andover with his wife Dorothy for over 15 years.
Earl was an active member of the Andover Congregational Church, serving as a deacon and serving on numerous committees. He was also a lifelong member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
Earl is survived by four daughters: Marsha Kimball of Tucson, Arizona; Linda Berry and husband Brian of Rye; Brenda DuBois and husband James of Franklin; and Rhonda Bonk and husband Herbert of East Andover. He has eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. His family, friends, and neighbors were an important part of his life, and we will all miss his wonderful sense of humor and generosity to all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, at 11 AM at the Andover Congregational Church located at 7 Chase Hill Road in East Andover. A reception following the service will be held at the Highland Lake Grange Hall adjacent to the church.
