Join Ausbon Sargent and the Bradford Conservation Commission for a moonlight hike or snowshoe on the new Battles Farm loop trail. We’ll hike through the fields, then up into the woods to see Hoyt Brook, the varied wildlife habitats on the property, and reach the top of the Jewett Hill where we’ll enjoy a snack. Round trip will be about two miles. Terrain is moderate with some short, steep sections.
The hike will be on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, January 25, 26, or 27, at 7 PM. The date will depend on which evening is forecast to be most clear.
By Thursday, January 24, we’ll choose the evening for the hike, and we’ll be in contact with those who have signed up in advance and provide parking information at that time. Please RSVP to Nancy Smith at NSmith@nullAusbonSargent.org or 526-6555. Be sure to leave your e-mail address and phone number so we can be in touch about which is the final date.
What to wear or bring: snowshoes, warm comfortable boots, hat, gloves, dress in layers. Bring something warm to drink and a head lamp. We’ll provide a snack for everyone.
