At Colgate University’s annual Awards Convocation on April 28 in Hamilton, New York, Madison Powers received the American Chemical Society’s Undergraduate Award in Organic Chemistry. This award, usually presented to a member of Colgate’s Senior Class, was awarded to Madison for his outstanding work in Organic Chemistry. Madison, a 2013 graduate of Proctor Academy, currently is a sophomore at Colgate University majoring in Bio/Chem. He received the Dean’s Award each of his first two years for maintaining a 3.3 or better GPA. He currently holds a 3.69 GPA. Madison will be interning this summer at Colgate University, researching proteins and their effects on cancer cells. He has also been accepted to study aboard next spring in Dublin, Ireland.
