The definition of a chronic condition is a health condition or disease that is persistent or otherwise long-lasting in its effects. The term chronic is typically applied when the course of the disease lasts for more than three months. This can include arthritis, chronic pain, asthma, obesity, osteoporosis, diabetes, heart disease, and other conditions that you live with on a daily or weekly basis and which significantly limit day-to-day activities.
If you or a loved one suffers from a chronic health condition, start the new year off right by attending LRGHealthcare’s Better Choices, Better Health six-week workshop, available in two convenient locations.
Better Choices, Better Health is a six-week workshop presented by LRGHealthcare Community Educators Melissa Rizzo and Carolyn Muller. Sessions are available beginning Tuesday, January 8, at the Veteran’s Home in Tilton from 12:30 to 2:30 PM and at the Taylor Community in Laconia starting on Wednesday, January 16, from 9:30 AM to noon.
Better Choices, Better Health will help participants learn skills for living a full, healthy life with a chronic condition; learn to set weekly goals; and develop a practical, step-by-step plan for improving health and quality of life.
Workshop leaders Melissa Rizzo and Carolyn Muller will guide participants through this proven program developed by the Stanford University School of Medicine.
A $25 donation is appreciated, but not required.
For more information or to register for this six-week workshop, please call LRGHealthcare Education Services at 527-7120.
“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.” ~ Edith Lovejoy Pierce
