It’s time to start thinking about dusting off those soccer cleats and finding your shin pads. Soccer sign-ups for the Andover Recreation League have begun!

For students entering first through sixth grade, now is the time to think about whether you will be playing with us this August. Andover Recreation Soccer is a member of the Merrimack Valley Soccer League, which consists of 19 towns.

Generally, the third through sixth grades will have soccer practice once a week and up to two games per week. Our younger first and second graders will have Saturday practice and scrimmages only.

This year we are trying to have a good ratio of coaches to players. Therefore, the deadline for sending in your registrations is Wednesday, July 1. If you send in registrations after July 1, your player will be able to play only if there is space available on the team. Students will also be receiving materials for soccer registration at AE/MS. Heidi will be at the Kindergarten Graduation night on Tuesday, June 16, for anyone who would like to sign up at that time.

Starting after the Fourth of July 4, Heidi will be having pick-up soccer over the summer, one night a week. On Monday nights at 6 PM, anyone can come and play. There is no cost, and we are out there to have fun, so come on down to Blackwater Park.

Anyone who would like to volunteer their time with coaching, refereeing, or field maintenance is encouraged to call or e-mail Heidi. Any help is greatly appreciated.
