The Church had a very successful Fourth of July sale of cotton candy on the Village Green. We realized a net profit of over $400. A huge “thank you” to Joyce Bourdon and all of her helpers.

The Missions Committee of the Church decided to give $100 to the Andover Food Pantry as well as to the Twin Rivers Food Pantry in Franklin. They will decide at their next meeting which mission project will get the remainder of the money.

The Church is in the process of forming a Grange Hall Committee. The purpose of this committee is to set up a list of policies and procedures for use of the Grange Hall as well as determine what maintenance needs to be done to make it structurally sound. A structural engineer has been hired to help in this endeavor.

Our outdoor service and church picnic at the Town Beach on Highland Lake will be held on Sunday, August 9. But please note the change of time! For this service only, it will be held at 10 AM instead of 9:30 AM. In case of inclement weather, it will be held at the Church followed by the picnic being held at the Grange Hall – still at the 10 AM time.

All are invited – just bring yourselves and perhaps a folding chair. There will be plenty of food for all..

We are sorry to report that the Vacation Bible School had to be cancelled for this year due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Church will be having its annual Labor Day weekend Flea Market and Bake Sale on Saturday, September 5, on the Village Green from 9 AM to 2 PM. In addition to baked goods, the Church will also have food and beverages available to purchase. Contact Bonnie Wesley at 735-5486 if you are interested in reserving a spot to sell your wares. Usually, over 20 spaces are rented at a cost of $20 each.

While Pastor John is on Sabbatical for the summer, deacons Johneric and Linda Wickstrom at 286-8695 will be the point persons to call. Emergency phone calls can be made by first calling Amy Wagner at home at 735-5928.
