Now in its fourth year, this bike event continues to be one of our best fund-raising events of the year and provides a fun and exciting day for all participants. Ausbon Sargent collaborates with the New Hampshire Cycling Club in Concord to offer a number of scenic routes with varying degrees of difficulty, all beginning and ending at the New London Historical Society. Riders receive a homemade breakfast, lunch, and dinner, (including a free beer at the end of the ride); as well as snacks at the rest stops along the routes.
Please share this with your family and friends and begin your “get in shape” routine.
Following is the description of the K2 Bike Event in the words of the New Hampshire Cycling Club: “The Kearsarge Klassic (K2) Bike Event is a mostly dirt loop in central New Hampshire. The route traverses the towns of Bradford, Sutton, Warner, Webster, Andover, Danbury, Alexandria, Enfield, Springfield, and New London and includes some of the most scenic roads in New Hampshire. Although the roads are well maintained dirt roads, a cyclo cross bike or a bike with wider tires is highly recommended. The route goes by a number of properties conserved by the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust. By definition of a “randonnee,” no prizes will be offered and the ride will not be timed. The event is a fundraiser for the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust, so the proceeds from this event will contribute to its efforts to preserve and protect land in a spectacularly beautiful part of New Hampshire, the Mt. Kearsarge/Lake Sunapee Region.
Registration will be open until August 27 and is always pre-registration only. No “day-of” registration will be accepted. The event is limited to 200 participants.
