Wallace B. Currier, 82, died at home in Salisbury on Sunday, December 16, 2012. Wally was born in Andover on March 3, 1930, the son of Glen and Etta Currier. He excelled in many sports, playing baseball and softball for six decades. He enjoyed bowling and golf for many years. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and loved watching them play sports and participate in outdoor activities, many of which he had taught them. Wally hunted and trapped all his life.
He served in the United States Army from October, 1951 to September, 1953 and held UN and Korean Service ribbons. He worked as a first class lineman for New England Power Company and Massachusetts Electric in New Hampshire and Massachusetts for 37 years.
Wally is survived by his loving wife, Jane, of 50 years; son Gary Currier of Andover; daughters Twila Wain and husband Scott of Hampstead, Tina Parris and husband Marc of Pembroke, and Fawn Peterson and husband Drew of Concord; grandsons Asa Currier, Jeff Currier, Garrett Wain, Jordan Wain, Jacob Parris, and Steven LeClair. He also leaves granddaughters Lauren Wain, Naomi Margolis, Emily Strumski, Tasha Hilson; step-granddaughter Krissy Peterson; three great-granddaughters and one great grandson; his brother, Clyde Currier, and sister, Charlotte Clark, both of Andover; and many longtime friends.
He was predeceased by his brother, Lyman Currier, and granddaughter Brianna Wain.
At Wally’s request, no funeral or memorial services will be held; please hold your fond memories of him in your hearts.
