Their stories tell of the distinctly different paths that led each of the Lincolns to Springfield, Illlinois, where they met, married, and began a family. The years that followed their move to the White House were filled with personal and national crises. After the program, the Woods will step out of character and answer audience questions.

Historical presenters specializing in 19th-century American history, Steve and Sharon Wood have been researching and portraying the Lincolns since 1995. They are members of the Association of Lincoln Presenters (ALP), and were awarded the organization’s Glen Schnizlein Memorial Award for the best Abraham and Mary Lincoln Team for both 2003 and 2006. Steve took second place in the Lincoln Look-Alike Contest held in Hodgenville, Kentucky, in 2000.

The Andover Historical Society, with a grant from the New Hampshire Humanities Council, is sponsoring the event. A brief business meeting will be held prior to the program.

The program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, please call 735-5369.
