A special annual Self-Congratulatory Pot Luck Supper was held at the Highland Lake Inn’s fantastic newly renovated barn event venue in East Andover on September 16. It was a delightful evening during which FNRT-MC board members and special guests gave themselves a big pat on the back for a grand year full of accomplishments.
Bob Ward was presented FNRT-MCs highest award, the Golden Spike Award, for the outstanding leadership he demonstrated over the years. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Bob received the award in absentia last night. He will be presented the honor in person later on this month.
During the annual meeting held prior to the dinner, there was an election of members of the board and then officers. Myra Mayman and Lindy Heim were elected co-presidents, Alex Bernhard vice president, Myra Mayman Secretary, and Steve Darling treasurer. Peter Southworth will continue to be the recording secretary.
New board member Jack Shields of Penacook was elected. Longtime and much appreciated board members, Ellsworth and Joyce Morton, have resigned from the board but remain active.
As the organization’s focus turns towards rail trail maintenance and promotion, expect the board to concentrate its efforts in that direction. The board appreciates all suggestions so please don’t hesitate to contact us whenever you have ideas to share.
