Professional wildlife photographer Rick Libbey will display his work and lead a workshop at the Photography Expo in East Andover. Three other photo workshops will be offered, and other local photographers will have an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work.
The event is sponsored by the Andover Institute, an arm of the non-profit Andover Community Association, and will take place on Saturday, November 7 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Highland Lake Grange Hall in East Andover. The public is invited, and admission is free.
Photo enthusiasts from the Andover area wishing to participate should contact Jay Fitzpatrick at jall@nulltds.net for more information and to reserve a table for displaying their work. Space will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with preference given to residents of Andover and adjacent towns.
Libbey, owner of Moose Man Nature Photos in Andover, is well-known for his spectacular images of moose, loons, eagles, and other wildlife in their natural settings. His presentation, scheduled for noon, will give the audience a glimpse into how he is able to capture wildlife up close during his often-long excursions into the deep woods of New Hampshire and Maine. He’ll also discuss his equipment and photographic techniques.
Each hour, other experienced photographers will lead discussions of additional photo techniques, including High Dynamic Range imaging, use of Photoshop and other software programs, and light-painting.
“There are a number of talented photographers in the Andover area, and this event is designed to give them a venue to show their work and put it up for sale to the public,” event organizer Jay Fitzpatrick said. “The mission of the Andover Institute is to bring people together to learn new things and gain new skills, and this Photo Expo does exactly that.”
