Colby-Sawyer College will host several events open to the public over the weekend of October 16 through 18 during its Alumni Fall Festival. At the annual celebration of the college and its alumni, graduates renew ties with classmates, explore the college campus, and enjoy autumn in New England.

Friday, Oct. 16:
“Did You See What She Wore?! Women in Politics and the Media”

There are more women in Congress than ever before, and both major political parties have a female presidential candidate. But what does this actually mean for women? What do the media get right and wrong in their coverage of women in politics? Join Associate Professor and Chair of Humanities Melissa Meade as she leads this important discussion.
Reception for “Working Women: 36 Contemporary Artists”
Marian Graves Mugar Art Gallery, Sawyer Center, 3:30 PM
“Working Women” celebrates 36 outstanding contemporary women artists from emerging, young talents to demonstrated masters. The exhibit includes painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, ceramics and graphic design. The reception will feature a gallery talk by Professor of Fine and Performing Arts Bert Yarborough.
Screening of Award-winning Documentary “100: Head/Heart/Feet”
Wheeler Hall, Ware Student Center, 7 PM
Filmed by a crew of 20 Colby-Sawyer students, alumni and faculty, “100: Head/Heart/Feet” follows ultra-runner Zak Wieluns ‘02 during his third attempt to finish the Vermont 100 Endurance Run. The award-winning documentary also tells the stories of handlers, pacers and crew while revealing the reasons for Wieluns’ dedication to his goal and the impact on his friends and family.

Join the fanfare as Colby-Sawyer inducts its tenth class to the college’s Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2015 inductees are Ethan Casson ‘96 for basketball; Michelle Dailey ‘99 for basketball; Lore Monroe Lombardi ‘97 for tennis and track & field; Jon Nicholas ‘07 for baseball; and the 1997-98 men’s basketball team.
