Joan R. McCarter, 91, went home to be with her Lord on January 9, 2013, at Havenwood Heritage Heights in Concord.

The daughter of the late Fred Sr. and Grace Hall, Joan was born on September 19, 1921, in Andover.

Joan was a teacher for the Seabrook School System. She was a skilled painter and enjoyed making quilts, reading, and cooking.

Joan is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don McCarter of Concord; five daughters, Sherry Reniker of Kent, Washington, Rachel Roberts (Donald) of Theresa, New York, Gail McCarter of Franklin, Linda Davis (David) of Rochester, Judi Hutchenson (Jerry) of Sarasota, Florida; one brother, Fred Hall Jr. of Rochester; four granddaughters; one grandson; and five great-grandchildren.

Calling hours were held on January 13, at the RM Edgerly and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service took place on January 14 in the chapel of Edgerly Funeral Home.
