Who Says Pumpkins Don’t Grow on Trees?

They do in East Andover ... just ask Lloyd Perreault!

Lloyd Perreault checks on the large pumpkin he discovered growing in a tree in his backyard this year. Lloyd writes, "“When I planted my pumpkin seeds this year, one plant had lofty ideas. Instead of remaining on the ground, it took to the nearest tree and wound its way up, where it nestled in a crotch and proceeded to grow and grow. Maybe it knew something, as the rest of the patch did not do so well. “A few days after this picture was taken, the pumpkin fell to the ground. When I noticed it was no longer in its perch, I thought, '‘Oh, oh! Pumpkin pie.’ But it had made it down in one piece and is now on our back step, greeting folks with a big smile."” Photo: Judy Perreault
