ANDOVER ELEMENTARY MIDDLE SCHOOL

www.aemseagles.org

I hope you have had the chance to enjoy the delightful fall weather this week. What a treat!

There is no school tomorrow. It is a teacher workshop day. There is no school on Wednesday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day.

You are welcome to come to our AEMS Veterans Day Assembly. We will honor our local veterans on Tuesday, November 10th, at 9:00 am. This is always a very special time for our school community. If you can send in baked goods for the veterans to enjoy it is always appreciated.

We have a Box Top winner! Eric Bates is the big winner with well over 500 box tops! Following close behind and also collecting an impressive amount was Caleb Nelson, Liberty Spaulding, and Garrett and Wyatt Barton. Thanks to all students who brought in Box Tops! The next big collection point and another chance to win Monarchs tickets will be next month. All Box Tops sent in between now and December 18 will count toward it. Keep collecting! Thanks!

Andover Town Recreation basketball registration forms can be sent in to school. The registration fee is $30.00 for the first child and $25.00 for siblings. If you have any questions, contact Scott Allenby at allenbysc@nullproctoracademy.org. Don’t wait as tomorrow is the deadline. Teams are being formed now.

Consider being part of the AEMS PTO! The first meeting will be Monday, November 9th, at 6:30pm. We will meet in the school library. We have many great things we want to accomplish for our students but need your help. All are welcome!

Grades 1-7 participated in “Similarity Awareness” assemblies on Monday. Chandler Bullard from UNH’s Northeast Passage talked with students about what it is like to be in a wheelchair. Students had time to ask great questions. Students had the opportunity to use sports wheelchairs and play active games. It is hoped that non-disabled students will see the similarities instead of the differences between themselves and their peers with disabilities.

Grandparent Thanksgiving information is attached. If your child plans to leave after dinner with their grandparent or older relative please send a note to the office before Thursday.

Have a wonderful three day weekend!
