Wow, ’tis the season for some outstanding new books! Here are four you can find in the Andover Libraries. The Good House by Ann Leary makes you wonder-is it house or the homeowners who make life interesting? The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion details Don Tillman’s search for the perfect wife, romantic comedy at its best in this debut novel. Garth Risk Hallberg, in City on Fire, builds his novel around the New York City blackout of 1977. Finally, Louis de Bernieres, that marvelous author of Corelli’s Mandolin and Birds Without Wings, has written a World War I family saga, not to be missed.
On Saturday, December 12, at 4:15 in the afternoon, a very special program will take place at the Bachelder Library in East Andover. Storyteller and author Michael Caduto will present “Keepers of the Earth: Completing the Circles of Life,” for families with children from ages 3 through 9. Come sing and dance and learn about environmental stewardship through stories chosen from our native North American cultures.
Have a wonderful holiday season and may all your snow wishes be granted!
