Happy Holidays everyone! We, here at the Andover after School Program, want to thank everyone who participated in our fundraiser and donated to the food drive for the Andover food pantry. Every year we use the fundraiser money to replace broken or lost toys, games and puzzles. We also replenish our outdoor toys and sleds. This was a big help. We also had a group of older children accompany a staff member to the food pantry. This was a big treat and they were all glad to help out families in need.
In November we made lots of turkeys and a huge cornucopia was our snack room display. The kids had fun coloring the fruits and vegetables for the cornucopia. We also read a lot of books on the meaning of Thanksgiving during read aloud time. Our bulletin board in the Library was based on the book, Thanksgiving Day. The follow up activities were making a turkey with real feathers and What Am I Thankful For drawings. Both are displayed in our library.
We are currently collecting labels for education. We have a list of what products have these labels on them available at the program. Our bucket is almost half way full. Big thanks to those who have contributed.
Have a safe, prosperous holiday season. We will see you all next year.
