Gunner the Donkey (and Hayden Buswell) Surprise AE/MS Students

Hayden reads his new story to first graders

MVHS freshman and AE/MS graduate Hayden Buswell brought his donkey Gunner to a soccer game at Blackwater Park in October. AE/MS first grade teacher Mrs. Bent spoke to Hayden about his unique pet and told him that he should write a children's story starring Gunner. Well, he did it! At the beginning of November, Hayden surprised the AE/MS first graders with a children's book he had written entitled Gunner the Donkey. The story fascinated the first grade students and was full of beautiful photographs of the donkey. At the end of the book, Gunner says, "Come outside and tell me how Hayden did." When the students walked out of the front door, there was Gunner! In this photo, Hayden and Gunner meet Talia Hardie.
