The Warner Fall Foliage Festival committee will be hosting a community-wide meeting at the Warner Town Hall on January 29 at 7 PM. The purpose of the gathering will be to determine the future of the festival, given the increasing challenges facing the 65-year-old non-profit organization.
At issue is the lack of volunteers willing to become year-round board members, and the deterioration of the festival infrastructure. Over the years, fewer and fewer area residents have come forward to volunteer as board members, and currently, the board doesn’t meet the bylaw requirement of 10 members. In addition, major electrical projects must be completed before the 2013 festival.
What can be done to ensure the future of the festival? The public is invited to share their ideas at this meeting. Please join us.
Anyone who would like to show support or share ideas in advance of the community meeting, please contact outgoing president Sherry Thomas at 545-8654 or SThom@nulltds.net.
